This past weekend we went to take a ride on our Favorite Engine Thomas. We rode the first train which was nice since we easily found parking close by and then were able to get though all the different things. Payton was so excited and was counting down the day until our day to ride Thomas. We climbed into the car right behind Thomas which was fun even though the seats were falling apart since the car was old, Payton kept saying Thomas is getting old.
I am not sure why but Payton started calling the 4th of July the Nth of July and she could not have been more excited about this holiday. That morning we went to the Pancake breakfast at the Bothell fire station. Who doesn’t love free pancakes and and chance to check out the Fire Engines. They also had fun crafts and face painting for kids too.
Then we headed home for a quick stop and then on to Edmonds to meet Grandma and Grandpa Tucker to watch the parade. We had a little time to waste before so Kevin and I got coffee and came back to kids with bubbles and other goodies. Payton had fun blowing bubbles with Grandpa and both kids took walks with him to see the different floats setting up. Then we had fun watching the exciting parade. Logan didn’t like the loud noises but the rest was exciting for him. Payton had fun gathering up the candy and treats thrown at her and she got a bag full of goodies.
After a little rest time we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Verver’s house for a BBQ and playing out side. Then we went home to watch fireworks on TV with the kids since they needed to get to bed.
Today we took an impromptu trip to Trophy cupcakes at University village since it was Village play days. I noticed their post on Facebook and thought Payton and Logan would loves this plus who doesn’t love Free cupcakes, balloons and stickers – my kids favorite things!. Logan kept saying bah bah and pointing to the balloons.
Each kid got to decorate their cup cake either chocolate or vanilla with vanilla frosting with different sprinkles. Payton chose to embellish hers with tons of rainbow sprinkles and I used different kinds to decorate Logan’s. We always say everything is better with sprinkles, especially when you are 1 and 4. The guy who helped us was very impressed with Payton's cupcake and ALL the sprinkles it had on it.
Afterwards you could hang out and eat them or get a box to take it home. Payton ate a few bites but it was windy and she didn’t want to stay. The wind was so strong it blew our napkins across the way to some other tables.
Logan enjoyed holding Payton’s balloon since we couldn’t get one for him. He also loved seeing the airplanes fly over us. It doesn’t take much to make him happy. We had a fun time and can’t wait to see what the next U Village play day is for next week.Yummy Trophy Cupcakes!
